Sham Singh Attariwala
Sham Singh Attariwala was born in 1790 in Attari. He was one of the unoffical ministers of Ranjit Singh's court and was good friends with the Maharaja. Due to conspiracy, the British forces were able to approach as far as Mudki and Ferozpur. To stall their advancement, Attariwale offered the stiffest resistance before going down fighting at Sabraon. Cunningham comments that Sikhs were besieged from all sides, none either gave in or asked for refuge.
